I upgraded from another Homedics scale that only had body fat % in the hopes of getting better information. Mission accomplished! This scale gives me good information in a quick (often too quick) easy to use format. My only real complaint is that the information only stays on the screen for a second or two before cycling to the next set of information and then turning itself off. To read the information fully I almost always have to turn the scale back on and have it display the previous numbers again.The actual numbers for Body fat, water and muscle percentage are good estimates. Unfortunately, from day to day they vary up to two percent. For instance, in the last three days my body fat has been measured at 22%, 24.1% and 22%. This implies that over the course of a few days (weighing first thing in the morning after) I first gained 4.3 pounds of fat and then lost 4 pounds of fat which is obviously ridiculous.
Still, these numbers are consistent enough for me to know I'm somewhere in the area of 23% body fat. It'd be great for the scale to give me a 100% accurate result every time, but I doubt any scale on the market can do that. The technology just isn't that precise yet.
Overall I'm quite happy with the scale and I'm glad I bough it. Not a perfect product, but a good one.
